Students and staff adorned red and white in celebration of Singapore’s 52nd birthday and were all in exuberant spirits. They gathered at the reception area during the lunch break to mingle and take photos besides getting a National Day gift of chocolates from the CEO, Ms Rose Yeo.
In conjunction with the celebrations, SSTC organized an Essay Writing Competition for all class levels on the topic “Singapore”. Students submitted essays about what they feel about Singapore and how the “tiny red dot” has been inspirational. Judges for the essay competition were Mr Adrian and Ms Shirleen who commented that the winners had included details about Singapore what made it a unique country. Additionally, the writers should also bring in a personal dimension i.e. should describe how he/she had experienced Singapore in a particular way in order to be selected as winners.
All essay competition participants received consolation rewards and the winners received certificates besides prizes.
