12 months for each Year/Level

Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, with breaks (excluding Co-Curricular Activities)

There are three terms in one Academic Year.

• Term 1: September – December
• Term 2: January – March
• Term 3: April – June

Lectures, Problem-Based Learning, interactive tutorials, paired or group learning, practical lessons, and other interactive activities that are in line with current best practices to support students’ learning.

Term Assessments conducted for Terms 1 and 2 and a Final Year Assessment is conducted at the end of the Academic Year.

For Year 1: Recommended age is 6 years old on as of 31 December of the Academic Year that the student is enrolling into. Able to communicate verbally in English and completion of Kindergarten or its equivalent in their respective countries. International students whose first language is not English may also be required to pass SSTC International Academy’s English Language Proficiency Test.

For Year 2: Recommended age is 7 years old on as of 31 December of the Academic Year that the student is enrolling into. Passed English at Year 1 and completed Year 1 or its equivalent in their respective countries. International students whose first language is not English may also be required to pass SSTC International Academy’s English Language Proficiency Test.

For Year 3: Recommended age is 8 years old on as of 31 December of the Academic Year that the student is enrolling into. Passed English at Year 2 and completed Year 2 or its equivalent in their respective countries. International students whose first language is not English may also be required to pass SSTC International Academy’s English Language Proficiency Test.

For Year 4: Recommended age is 9 years old on as of 31 December of the Academic Year that the student is enrolling into. Passed English at Year 3 and completed Year 3 or its equivalent in their respective countries. International students whose first language is not English may also be required to pass SSTC International Academy’s English Language Proficiency Test.

For Year 5: Recommended age is 10 years old on as of 31 December of the Academic Year that the student is enrolling into. Passed English at Year 4 and completed Year 4 or its equivalent in their respective countries. International students whose first language is not English may also be required to pass SSTC International Academy’s English Language Proficiency Test.

For Year 6: Recommended age is 11 years old on as of 31 December of the Academic Year that the student is enrolling into. Passed English at Year 5 and completed Year 5 or its equivalent in their respective countries. International students whose first language is not English may also be required to pass SSTC International Academy’s English Language Proficiency Test.

After applying, students may be required to take an Academic Diagnostic Test covering English and Mathematics subjects to determine their suitability for the level they intend to enrol into. Students will be advised to the appropriate level depending on their score achieved.

SSTC adopts a non-retention policy for progression of students from one level to the next. At Year 6 students sit for the Cambridge Checkpoint examinations and will be able to obtain a Statement of Achievement issued by Cambridge Assessment International Education.

All students need to attend at least 75% of classes. Students’ Pass holders are required to maintain an attendance of 90% and above to meet the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority requirement.
